Mountain Castle – Update #5
This week I worked on the castle itself. I also imported some of my maps to see how they look. I’m almost fully finished with all the modeling and then I can move on to my favorite part, lighting!
Mountain Castle – Painting
This week I worked on painting each Mudbox piece. I exported my maps and I’ve started applying them to a shader.
Mountain Castle – Update #4
This week I worked on the base that the castle sits on. Now that all of the rock sculpting is finished, I can begin painting and texturing.
Mountain Castle – Update #3
This week I worked on the walkway for my castle mountain. I sculpted all the detail and put it aside for painting later. I’ve started setting up the final piece that the castle sits on as well as the castle itself.
Mountain Castle – Update #2
Boy was this a busy week. I got really far on the fine detail in Mudbox until I realized I was getting distortion due to an imperfect base model. I had two options, start over or re-topologize & transfer the detail.
Mountain Castle – Update #1
I’ve spent the first week modeling out the basic form for my mountain and castle. I made sure that every poly face was as equal as possible to avoid distortion. Now that all of that is done, I’m going to export each model piece as an OBJ, and bring it into Mudbox to start sculpting the fine detail.
Mad Scientist Lair – Modeling
It’s winter break and I’m finally given the time to work on my personal projects. Since my personal work is analogous to my professional work, there won’t be much of a difference from before. The type of work will be exactly the same, but the location and project will be what I want to do. This next project, which is already well started, is a Mad Scientist Lair. Here is a render of where my progress stands:
Portfolio Updated
These last six months have been very productive. I have worked on many projects and learned quite a bit. With every project I complete, I am able to make my scene more realistic than the last. I work very hard on my scenes and I’m proud of them. My Portfolio is now filled with my most current work.
